Students in grades 6-8 will meet in the Middlebrook cafeteria after school to tap trees on school grounds and to collect the sap. Students and families will be invited to Ambler Farm to see how the sap is made into syrup. As a thank you for participating, each student will receive a bottle of maple syrup made from the sap that they helped harvest. Dress warm as we will be outside. Pick-up is at 4:10 pm in the MB pick-up line. To register your child, please email Kevin Meehan at kevin@amblerfarm.org.

10 am - 4 pm. This workshop will introduce artists to the diversity and excitement of bold painterly colors, hand drawing; delicate details and photographic images that come with Silkscreen. The workshop will cover all the basics for those unfamiliar with the process and will then expand to explore more creative and complex techniques. These techniques will include reduction printing, direct positive drawing, wax crayon stencils, color trapping, color blending, monoprints and working with digital films. The inks used are capable of printing on a variety of surfaces such as plastic, wood, and fabrics. The workshop uses only non-toxic, solvent free inks and practices environmentally safer printing methods.

Bruce Graham's White Guy on the Bus, replaces the originally announced Agnes of God. Graham also authored The Outgoing Tide, which garnered critical and popular acclaim for Square One two seasons ago. In this recent Off-Broadway production, a wealthy white businessman rides the same bus, week after week, befriending a single black mon. As they get to know one another, their pasts unfold and tensions begin to rise, igniting a disturbing and crucial exploration of race. According to BroadStreetReview.com, "Playwright Bruce Graham has a delicious way of penning realistic-sounding talk that seems to meander, but actually articulates important themes and ideas entertainingly and without preachiness". White Guy on the Bus opens Thursday, March 1 and continues through Sunday, March18, 2018.

10 am - 4 pm. This workshop will introduce a variety of non-toxic intaglio techniques that substitute for the more toxic methods often associated with etching and aquatint. Collagraph, silk aquatint, carborundum aquatint, drypoint, mezzotint, and photopolymer intaglio will all be covered. Working on a small scale, participants will get to explore these varied techniques to better expand their vocabulary of mark making and expressive skills. The focus will be made on exploring the large range of possibilities that come with intaglio and learning the fundamentals associated with these techniques.
